The Crystal City Council is composed of a mayor and six council members. The city is divided into two sections and four wards. The mayor is elected at large; council members must reside in the section or ward of the city in which they are running for office.

This year’s municipal general election will be Nov. 3, 2020, and consists of electing a member to the following offices (all seats are four-year terms):

   • Mayor
   • Council Member Section I
   • Council Member Ward 3
   • Council Member Ward 4

EARLY VOTING OPTIONS
In-person absentee voting is available now until Nov. 2, the day before election day. All eligible voters in Crystal can vote absentee – either by mail or in person at Crystal City Hall. 

Vote Early by Mail
Voters must fill out an application online or on paper to receive a ballot. Paper applications are available in English, Spanish, Hmong, Somali, Vietnamese, Russian, Chinese, Lao, Oromo, Khmer and Amharic.

Voters are not required to be pre-registered to vote or apply to vote absentee. To make the process easier, voters may want to register or ensure you are registered before applying for an absentee ballot.

Vote Early in Person
Voters who live in Crystal can vote absentee in person at Crystal City Hall, 4141 Douglas Dr. N. City hall office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

 Oct. 13  General Election: Voter pre-registration ends at 5 p.m. at Crystal City Hall

 General Election: In-person absentee voting via direct balloting at Crystal City Hall
 Oct. 31  General Election: In-person absentee voting extended hours: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Crystal City Hall
 Nov. 2  General Election: In-person absentee voting extended hours: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. at Crystal City Hall
 Nov. 3   General Election Day: Polls open 7 a.m. - 8 p.m.
