PARK VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
All park lovers in the Crystal area are welcome to join the Volunteer Habitat Restoration Program at its first gathering this Thursday, May 2 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Hagemeister Pond Nature Area, 6427 41st Ave. N. Learn about the park?s invasive species (such as buckthorn) and how to remove them.
The opportunity includes:
? A walkthrough of the nature area.
? A safety overview.
? Information on identifying invasive species.
? Instructions on proper tool usage.
? Time for invasive species removal.
The group will be meeting every Thursday in May, June and July!
Participants should wear close-toed shoes, long pants and long-sleeved shirts. Eye protection and gloves are provided, or bring your own. Bring water to drink. Children younger than 12 need adult supervision; children under 12 cannot attend due to safety.
