Serve as an Election Judge
Serving as an election judge is a great opportunity to learn
more about election processes and also provides a valuable service to the community. Election judges are responsible for administering election procedures in each polling place on Election Day. General responsibilities include, but are not limited to, opening and closing the polling places, explaining voting procedures, and providing assistance to sign in voters and/or register new voters.
Required qualifications to be an election judge:

• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Must not be a candidate in the election.
• Cannot reside, either temporarily or permanently, with any candidate on the ballot in the election.
• Cannot be a spouse, parent, stepparent, child, stepchild, sibling, or stepsibling of any election judge serving in the same precinct at the same time, or of any candidate on the ballot in the election.
• Must complete a minimum two-hour, paid, online election judge training (provided by the city).
•
Must have valid email address and check email regularly as elections communication will be primarily through email and/or text messaging.
